In 2011, I represented New Community Jewish High School and presented on Interfaith Liberation Theology. The slides below are from that presentation which shows that the correct way to understand Israel in Arabic is, "those who do Jihad with Allah and with humans and prevail."
There is a Facebook forum called JJ: Side Discussion Group which grew out of a place for Muslims and Jews to discuss sensitive topics that carry immense meaning to both our peoples. We discuss the meaning of words by understanding their etymology and religious significance in Judaism and Islam.

The YSR in ySRAeL comes from SRH that has a root meaning of "to fix upon something either visually of physically." In the story where Yaaqov wrestles with the angel the verb ?BQ is used for the wrestling. It is only afterword, when his name is given that the root SRH is used. They are like the two types of moves in wrestling the wrangling is the ?BQ and the hold is the SRH. Jihad comes from a root similar to the Hebrew GCh similar to GChN abdomen, GChL thrusting flames and it literally means "to thrust against." Furthermore, the ?BQ of wrangling / wrestling is related to the word for dust. It also means to "entangle with" and so according to Jastro can also mean "to be as a disciple." ?ByQ in the Talmud means "addicted." Lastly, JiChaD has the following meanings: disclaim, disavow, disown, refuse, reject, repudiate, renounce, deny. And finally, do not misunderstand. I love Arabs and Islam in its moderate form. My comments are not an expression of racism or Islamophobia.

The roots ShWR, SWR, ShRR, SRH, ShYR, ShRT, ?ShR, YShR are all related to one another. They come from adding Sh + YRH (which means to shoot, aim, penetrate, teach). From the idea of aim at and penetrate, we get words that mean to look firmly in a particular direction, and go straight, be straight and words that mean to be firm:

Furthermore, the SWR / SoRaH of Isaiah 28:25 means "row" like in a planting. If you want to make your row straight, it must be "sighted" to make a fixed straight line. Also the SaR / SaRaH often mistranslated as prince / princess never refers to a son or daughter of a king. Rather in the masculine use it is always a military officer. The best translation is "Overseer." The hiphil to set up
