This is a sculpture by Joshua Koffman called of Synagoga and Ecclesia in Our Time (Nostra Aetate) that was blessed by Pope Francis. Many may know the original Synagoga and Ecclesia which reflects supersessionism (i.e. Christianity came to replace Judaism).  Nostra Aetate changed this idea to create a dialogue of equals which is beautifully represented in this sculpture.   

In honor of the 50th anniversary of Nostra Aetate, I will be interviewing Fr. Russ McDouggal, Rector of the Tantur Ecumenical Institute and an ordained priest of the Congregation of Holy Cross since 1991.  He has more than thirteen years of ministry experience with the Holy Cross in Kenya and Uganda.

My second guest will be Dr. Marcie Lenk who is a Shalom Hartman Institute research fellow, and the Institute's Director of Christian Leadership Programs. She teaches Christianity at Shalem College, Patristics at the Studium Theologicum Salesianum at Ratisbonne Monastery, and Jewish and Christian texts at Ecce Homo Convent and the Swedish theological Institute.
